The mentor–mentee mechanism is a structured system in which an experienced faculty member (mentor) guides and supports a group of students (mentees) in their academic as well as personal development.
Roles and Responsibilities
Mentor’s Role:
- Provides guidance, support, and motivation
- Shares knowledge and experiences
- Helps students set realistic goals and achieve them
Mentee’s Role:
- Actively participates in discussions and activities
- Shares academic or personal concerns openly
- Works towards achieving goals with the mentor’s guidance
Process
- Mentors are assigned to a group of students
- Regular meetings are conducted to discuss progress and challenges
- Mentors provide continuous feedback and guidance
- Student progress is monitored, and necessary improvements are made
